Connie Bag

This is the Connie Bag.  The pattern is from the book Making Vintage Accessories by Emma Brennan.

I soooo love the shape of this bag!  I added the flap closure and the bow.  The bow is a pattern from Michelle Patterns.   I tea stained some muslin for the bow.   I purposely wrinkled the fabric.  'Cuz that's the look I was going for.
This is the back of the bag.
I actually made this bag for an event I will be going to soon.  I bought the fabric a few years ago.  I styled the bag to match this skirt.
Have a great day!

Agatha Bag

This is made with the Agatha Bag Pattern designed by Emma Brennan. It can be found in her book Making Vintage Accessories.
I have always been a huge fan of all Emma Brennan's designs!  In fact, her patterns were some of the first bags I ever made.  I learned several bag making techniques from her patterns.  She has a web site (www.CharliesAunt.com) and an Etsy shop (www.CharliesAunt.Etsy.com.)
I made this bag in an afternoon...start to finish.  I have an event to go to and I want to take a smaller bag.  Since these bags are quick to make, I might have enough time to make another bag.  Of course it is out of different fabric.   I happened to have two fabrics that are the right color and style to go with a skirt I have in mind.  Then I will have to decide which goes best with my outfit.   :)

This is the front of the bag.  That scallop detail is actually a working pocket.  I slipped my cell phone in there with no problem.  I'm not sure how well you can tell from the picture, but I also chose to use the wrong side of the fabric to make the scallop pocket.  Yes....I meant to do that.  :)

This is the back of the bag.  For the handle, I used some faux leather that I had left over from a previous project.
The inside of the bag.  I made a divided slip pocket.

Connie Bag

I am in LOVE with almost all of the bag patterns that Emma Brennan creates.  She has written a few books.  One is this Making Vintage Accessories book.  She also creates some cute accessories in addition to bags.  I love to browse her site http://www.charliesaunt.com/as well as her Etsy Shop
Most of her bag patterns are for cute small to medium sized bags.  I love that I can use some of my scraps leftover from making bigger projects.  You can even recycle a few items of clothing to make a bag.
This is the Connie Bag out of the Making Vintage Accessories book.
I think that the round shape of this bag is SOOOO much fun!  I added the flap and the flower.
I have found this is bag is perfect for when I don't want to carry a big shoulder bag.  I can throw in all the necessaries like small wallet, cell phone, keys, sunglasses...and a few other items.
This pattern pattern includes wonderful detailed instructions with picture illustrations.

Have a great day!
