Pink Peony Bag by Charmed Liebling

I am very late to the game with this post.  Yikes!
This is the Pink Peony Bag from Charmed Liebling.  It is available as a free pattern if you click on this link or go to the Sew Momma Sew Blog.
This is another super cute little bag pattern.  It is very quick and easy to sew.
I LOVE the look of the pleats on the flap.  You can sew either a wrist strap, a shoulder/cross body strap or both.  I love when bags can be versatile like that.
Since this project uses little pieces of fabric, I decided to use some of my children's outgrown clothing.

This is the back of the bag.
I was in the mood for ruffles.  So, I added ruffles to the front and back of this bag.

For this ruffle version I was able to use scraps for the inside and upcycle a pair of outgrown jeans.

ReLoved Clothing Backpack-- Part 3

Sorry this picture is blurry...I took this pic a long time ago and just now realized that it's blurry.  I no longer have this bag in my possession.  UGGG!
Anywho...If you'll remember back to this post ReLoved Clothing Backpack Part 1, and this post ReLoved Clothing Backpack Part 2, these backpacks are made from ReLoved clothing.  This bag was made for my neighbors son.
The next backpack to be posted is for my neighbor herself.
Y'all come back now....ya hear?!  Yep, I'm old enough to remember what TV show that came from.  :)

ReLoved Clothing Backpack-- Part #2

If you remember back to this post, I made a few backpacks for a neighbor using outgrown clothing from her children.  This was such an awesome experience!  I'm very glad she thought of this and asked me to create these bags for her.  It really challenged me creatively.
She showed me a bag that she liked.  I made a pattern resembling that bag.  Then I took all the articles of clothing she brought me and tried to put it all together so that it didn't look all mish mash...at least that was my goal.
After I drafted the pattern then tested it on an old pair of jeans, I had my necessary changes.  I cut all the bag pieces from fusible interfacing.  I used these interfacing pieces when I went to cut and fit the clothing.  Sometimes I marked the clothing with a removable marking pen then cut.  Other times I just fused the interfacing then cut.  On occasion I had to cut then turn under rough edges then top stitch to fill the spaces.
I chose which pieces of clothing to highlight in the bag by watching as my neighbor showed me the clothing and mentally noted which pieces of clothing she seemed to be more emotional about.

This is the first bag I made using her clothing.

ReLoved Clothing Backpack Project 1

A neighbor brought over a backpack that she liked and asked if I'd make a similar backpack for her and each of her children out of the clothes the children have outgrown.
I started by making a pattern for the backpack.  I decided to test the pattern using an old pair of my hubby's jeans.  The lining is an old duvet cover.

Once I had the backpack pattern the way I liked it, it was time to get to work on the backpacks using reloved clothing.
Check back later and I will post pictures of the backpack I made for her daughter.
