Life

Happy Halloween, again!

Anywho, here is the card:

I again combined a few challenges.
PTI's Make it Monday:  This challenge is Multi-Stamp Background Building.  I used three stamps from PTI's Iconic Images Set to make the background paper.

Mojo Monday: Sketch #213

HYCCT "I Will Survive!" Challenge-I wasn't very happy with the original card I'd made for this challenge.  So, I thought I give it another go.  The challenge is to "...make an encouraging card/project using any shade of purple."

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  PTI-Out On A Limb, Iconic Images

HYCCT-It's a Costume Party!

Happy Halloween!

Well, I'm kind of sad to say that this is the last Hope You Can Cling To Challenge...for this year.

This Challenge is a Costume Party.  "I want each of you to "disguise" yourselves in a stamping style that is not your own at all for this costume party.

So if you are a CAS (Clean and Simple) stamper - you have to make a vintage, or busy or shabby chic card.

If you normally make "foofy" cards with ribbons and bows and layers, you have to be a CAS stamper today!

If you're normally steampunk and ATC in your style, you have to make a cute bunny card...

Get my drift? Get your stamping costumes on!!"

Yep, I copied and pasted that quote.

I'm not exactly sure what my stamping style is...train wreck, maybe?  :)
Anyway, I hope this doesn't look like something I'd "normally" create.
I attempted to go for the clean and simple look.  Maybe???  Well, the card only took about 10 minutes to make...that would at least be simple.  LOL!

I hope everyone had a great Oct.

Have a fun and safe Halloween!

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Stampington & Co.-Romance Cube (polka dots)
Template:  Hot Off The Press-Fold-It Bows (awareness ribbon)

Very bright pink, huh?  :)

I used scraps of paper to make my "frilly paper ribbon."  I crumpled up the paper then put a line of adhesive down on the card and stuck the paper down as I crumbled and applied it to the adhesive.

Here is the card I made inspired by my "happy place."

Hope You Can Cling To-Week #2

"Hang in There!" Challenge

This challenge was to have something hanging.  I used the Cricut Serenade Cartridge to cut the bird cage.  I stamped the flourish and the "beauty".  Made an oops!  Tried several fixes...nothing has been working...any suggestions?

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Fancy Pants-(don't know the name of the set)
Cricut-Serenade

"Things are looking up!" Challenge

For this challenge we are to make a card that uses things we see when we look up.  I immediately thought of this stamp with the child looking up.  I've had it for quite awhile.  Took me awhile to decide what I had that he could look up to.  I thought clouds...but I didn't want it to be a depressing card.  So, I thought clouds that are silver.  When I went to pull out my silver ink pad...it had melted.  LOL!  So, then I thought for a little while and I decided to heat emboss with silver powder.  I had the clouds done...I liked.  But I thought it needed more bling.  So, I added diamond stickles to the dots on the umbrella.  I then used some sparkly blue embossing powder for the puddle the image is standing in.
Supplies Used:
Stamps:  MFT-Rain or Shine, Eureka Stamps-Boy Looking Up, Cornish Heritage Farms-Vintage text
Dies:  Spellbinders Nestabilities-Labels two
Stickles-Diamond
Embossing Powder-Mixtures from a LSS.

"Hang in There" Challenge-revisited see this post.   Challenge is to hang something on the card.  I hung the tag.

See this post.  We were to make a friendship themed card that incorporates ribbon and pink.

"Fight Like A Girl" Challenge
For this challenge we were to make a card that is all girl.

For the lace I heat embossed using black distress ink.

Supplies:
Stamps:  Penny Black-Antique Pattern
Punch: Martha Stewart Crafts
Bling:  stash
Embossing Powder:  Ranger-Black Soot Distress Powder
Embossing Plate:  PTI-Linnen

Hambo Hoedown #36

This week's Hambo Hoedown Challenge is to use a product that starts with the first letter of your name.

So, I'm not exactly sure where my mind was, but I couldn't think of anything that started that started with an "R".  Go ahead...make fun of me.  :)  To help me I looked online at a craft store list of products...I looked at "R" and gave myself a slap on the forehead...RIBBON!  Oh, Yaaa!  That's actually an easy one.  LOL!

Click here to buy the adorable Flower Monster image from Hambo Stamps.

So, I used "R"-ibbon on my project.

I made a box to hold these yummy pumpkin scones.  In the mug is a pumpkin spice latte. MMMMM!  (Sorry, I had to eat the scone that broke apart...and drink the latte, you know, before it got cold. )  :)
Up-close pic. of the box
Would you like the recipe I used to make these yummy Pumpkin Scones?  Well, before you click on the link I'll provide you you must agree to and understand the following terms...1)  If you make these you must send me some. :) and  2)  I did not add either of the two glazes.  I accidentally looked at the calorie count.  My advice...don't look at the calorie count and enjoy the spiced and regular glazes. That way those glaze calories don't count. I've never tried the recipe with the glazes...they are great glaze-free with coffee.  Here is the link (I'm kidding about the sending me some....or am I?)  Starbucks Pumpkin Scones.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Hambo Stamps-Flower Monster-digi
Paper:  DCWV, Cosmo Cricket

Washi Tape and my MOJO

Hope everyone is FANTASTIC!

This week's Make it Monday #35 challenge is to make your own custom stamped Washi Tape.  When I first heard about this tape and what it was made from I thought to myself...I wonder if I could make that with my own tissue paper.  I let that thought pass and never tried it...UNTIL NOW :)  Making the tape was fun.  Now, I need to get wider tape.

To make the tape in this card I stamped the single small diamond image from PTI's A Little Argyle set in purple and green ink.  Then I stamped the little circle image with red.

I used MOJO Monday's sketch #209 to help me make the card.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  PTI-Mat Stack 4, A Little Argyle
Dies: PTI-Mat Stack 4, Bloom Builders #3
Patterned Paper:  had for very long time...I believe is Provo Craft.

Saddle Pocket Sally

Here is another pattern I created myself.

I don't know...maybe I'm a little slap happy.  When I was trying to think of a name for this bag I couldn't get this one thought out of  my head.  Ya know when someone has hips that jut out in a certain area...some refer to this as saddle bags.  :)  Well, the placement of the pockets on this bag make me think of that.  LOL!  I mean no offense.  I wasn't thinking of anybody in particular....I don't even know a Sally.  And this bag doesn't look like the shape of a saddle bag--at least not that I know about.

Actually, I made this a few years ago.  I didn't think it would turn out so I didn't add any interfacing.  I wish I had.  I also didn't add any inside pockets.  I've learned a lot since making this bag...I might have to go back and revisit this bag.

There are two grommets on each side that have a tie going through them.
I LOVE polka-dots...I need help. :)

I got this fabric at Wal Mart...back when they had a fabric department.  I miss that department.  It was the only reason I went to Wal Mart.  I've been in there once since the fabric department went away.  I was sooo shocked at how they had remodeled the store. It looked nice, but now I rarely have a reason to go to Wal Mart.

Have a great one!
