Hello! Today there are two challenges at HYCCT. I used today's MOJO Monday sketch on my first challege.
Here is today's Mojo Sketch:
HYCCT1215A-Peaceful Pink
Our challenge is to " create a card that evokes peace, calm, and serenity with a touch (or splash!)
of pink. no pressures, no requirements other than to
just enjoy, embrace, and have fun while you are making it!"
Here is the card I made:
For this card I used Cricut Straight from the Nest Cartridge. Honestly, my Cricut hasn't had this much of a workout in a very long time. :) The stamp is from Studio G--just for you.
HYCCT1215B-Shine It Out!
For this challenge we get to make it SPARKLE! I have to admit, I don't make my cards sparkle very often. I think I'm afraid of glitter. LOL! It's such a mess and I get it everywhere. However, I sure do love sparkly cards.
Here is my card:
This is actually brighter than the picture shows. It is allllll glitter. I did the Xyron trick where you run a piece of cardstock through Xyron then you cover up things that you punch out (in my case the circles) place one color of glitter. Then you uncover the other areas you'd like glitter and apply a different color of glitter. I then took my remaining Xyron'ed piece of CS and used punches then removed the sticky covering and added glitter.
Enjoy!

Hope You Can Cling To-Day #1
It's that time again! Time for Hope You Can Cling To! I had such a blast playing along last year.
Here are my cards for the three challenges:
HYCCT1201A:Show What You're Made Of.
Here is a quote from the posting. "All I want you to do in this challenge is BE YOURSELF and tell me what it is in
your description that your stamping style is made of."
So, for my card I pulled out a bunch of stamps that I love and used them in my card.
I love the looks of the vintage ads. I used "Newspaper Ads" stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms. I also love scrip writing. For this I used a stamp from Stampers Anonymous' "Urban Grunge" set...Tim Holtz Collection.
I LOVE polka-dots! So, for the girls' dresses I used stamps from PTI's Polka-Dot Basics.
Now the image...LOVE this image! It is Uptown Girls Victoria and Juliette's Night Out from Stamping Bella. I am a girl that just wants to have fun. :)
I also used this week's Mojo Monday Sketch...because most days I just need to.
HYCCT1201B:For Kids Sake
For this card I used Cricut's Paper Pups Cartridge. For the loopy edge I used a punch from Martha Stewart Crafts. The stitching on the hug? is a stamp from PTI's Faux Ribbon Set.
HYCCT1201C:Ray of Hope
We were to use shades of grey with one color pop.
Stamps used are:Purple Onion Designs-Swirls, PTI-Out On A Limb.

Washi Tape and my MOJO
Hope everyone is FANTASTIC!
This week's Make it Monday #35 challenge is to make your own custom stamped Washi Tape. When I first heard about this tape and what it was made from I thought to myself...I wonder if I could make that with my own tissue paper. I let that thought pass and never tried it...UNTIL NOW :) Making the tape was fun. Now, I need to get wider tape.
To make the tape in this card I stamped the single small diamond image from PTI's A Little Argyle set in purple and green ink. Then I stamped the little circle image with red.
I used MOJO Monday's sketch #209 to help me make the card.
Supplies Used:
Stamps: PTI-Mat Stack 4, A Little Argyle
Dies: PTI-Mat Stack 4, Bloom Builders #3
Patterned Paper: had for very long time...I believe is Provo Craft.

Rebel Hoedown #26 & Mojo #201
Is is Wed. already?
I have to say all of the Hambo Stamp's images are GREAT! This week's new image--Rebel-- is SOOOOO much fun as well. Go ahead....you know you want it! :) Everyone's got a little (or a lot) of rebel in them.
I paired this week's Hoedown Challenge--use stitching--with Mojo's sketch #201. Although, I do love round and square cards, I had to modify the shape to make it a little easier for me this week.
I don't quite know how to explain the "Duh" phrase....it was a moment of weakness.
For my stitching, I used the Easy Stitches Template to hand draw them on the card with a marker. Actually, since I used such a wide tipped marker it was more like the plastic template was a stencil.
Have a great day!
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Hambo Stamp's-Rebel-digi, Cornish Heritage Farms-Newspaper Ads, Ek Success-Image Tree Tag, Impression Obession-button, Rubber Stampede-DUH
Punches: Ek Success-Tag, MarvyUchida-circle punch

You're HOW old?
Happy Wed.! This is Wed., correct? I'm not quite sure. If it's not then let's pretend it is.
Since it's Wed.--or not--that means it's HOEDOWN time! Whoo Hoooo!
This week's Hoedown challenge is to use red, teal and your choice of white, ivory or craft colors. To help me--since I'm obviously having a day--I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch. Have I mentioned I love sketches? Especially all the great Mojo sketches! They never disappoint.

The main image is Laughing-Digi Stamp from Hambo Stamps. LOVE IT! |
OMG! The humor of this digi stamp fits me perfectly! If you'd like to buy this stamp please visit the Hambo Stamp's web site and get yourself one.
Do any of you watch the TV program The Voice? I am quite hooked on this show. Admittedly, I originally started watching because...you know...Adam Levine is very pleasant to view. :) But, I look forward to watching it every week...more than just gazing at Adam. There is some amazing talent on the show. Anyway, I got the bright idea to work out on the treadmill during the show last night. I walked while the show was on and sprinted during the commercials. DO YOU KNOW HOW LONG THOSE COMMERCIAL BREAKS ARE!?!?!? Ugg! Any who! It prob. explains my state of mind today. I must not have gotten enough oxygen to my brain. LOL!
I hope you all get enough oxygen to your brains...and have a great week!

Mojo and Make it Monday
Happy Monday!
I combined two Monday challenges this week, Mojo Monday sketch #194 and Make it Monday #18 using tissue paper for texture.
Yeah! I, once again, managed to make a card so that I can easily mail it. It's a good thing since we have to mail cards to both our fathers.
I only had white tissue paper. I decided to ink the tissue paper with blue and brown ink. I let it dry then attached it to white cardstock. I cut the tissue papered cs into strips and stamped the strips with the polka dot basics image using white ink. Then glued the strips to the card and sewed it using a sewing machine.
Thank you! Have a great week!
Supplies:
Stamps: PTI-Polka Dot Basics, Purple Onion Designs-Happy Father's Day, Scallops, Stampers Anonymous-The Journey

MOJO #190
Do you ever have one of those days where you are playing around with your card, you like it, so you glue it down then can't figure out what changed...but something isn't quite what you expected? I think that's what happened to me. LOL!
I sure do love Mojo Monday sketches, though.
I do, however, like this card enough that it's not going to the trash! In fact, I, once again, created a card to meet my self-imposed challenges of making cards that are (1) more masculine and (2) mail-able.
Enjoy your day!

Next week is teacher appriciation week.

Many Blessings
This week I combined PTI's Make it Monday Challenge (use a die to emboss) and Mojo Monday sketch #187.
I embossed PTI's Parisian Lace Die using the tan embossing mat (Spellbinders) on green paper. I sanded the embossed design. For the flower, I die cut 5 layers of tissue paper using one of PTI's Doily Details Dies. I put one flat then folded the other 4 into 4ths. I glued them in the center then crumpled them to give dimension.
I hope you have many blessings in your life.

Can an ogre be cute?
What do masking, distressing, and a sketch have in common? YES! I combined three different challenges into one card! Ya'll are so smart!
I combined this week's PTI-Make It Monday (use a die to mask) challenge, Hambo Stamps Hoedown (distress) Challenge, and Mojo Monday Sketch #186.
So, back to the question--that is the title of this post--can an ogre be cute? Well, I do think that this Hambo digi stamp 'ogre' is cute. Sorry Mr. Ogre, I mean no disrespect...calling you cute.
My card
I used PTI's Doily Details die as a mask. I sponged Ranger Distress Ink Milled Lavender over the die cut. I distressed the edges by first inking them then roughing them up with my finger.
Have a great day!

MOJO #184 and Make it Monday #8
Happy Monday! Today I combined two challenges. Mojo Monday sketch and Paper Trey Ink's Make it Monday challenge. The PTI challenge is to do a project that "... must use at least one Papertrey product of some kind and ink applied to your project using a tool other than a stamp."
For my card, on the cardstock behind the dog image, the circle/heart cutout and the banner, I inked the white cardstock using applicator felt. I used 4 different colors of ink:ColorBox-Moss Green, VersaColor-Cardinal and Petal Pink, Delta-Fushia.
The PTI product I used was the stamp set A Little Argyle.
The dog image was recycled from a card that was sent to me.
As I sat trying to type this post, the smoke alarms in the house went off. My daughter was in the kitchen making a snack for her and her brother to take on their bike ride. She burnt a quesadilla. I opened up the windows to get the smoke out. The alarms are finally silent. I, however, am afraid to venture back into the kitchen to see the mess. Guess what I'll be doing as soon as I'm done.
Supplies Used:
Card base: DCWV
Coluzzle-Heart Shape, EK Success-circle punch, Sizzix-Dots & Scallops
patterned paper-DCWV, Provo Craft
Rubber stamp: Paper Trey Ink- A Little Argyle, Inkadinkado-Dog
Ink: ColorBox-Moss Green, VersaColor-Cardinal and Petal Pink, Delta-Fushia, Rubber Stampede-Chocolate Brown
